SOLEDAD SALAME

Soledad Salome is a friend of Douz and Mille who was invited to join the other artists at Scope Miami

As abstract as Soledad Salame's work may seem at first glance, she practices an intensely focused form of realism. Look again and you'll recognize the otherwise ephemeral flow of the ocean's tides, the traces of a threatened city. The natural world, at scales from the cosmic to the microcosmic, has always been her subject. Her work calls attention to its beauty and to its fragility - and by extension to the beauty and vulnerability of our own home. The urgent curiosity that marks her explorations of the universe and her ceaseless search for new forms to communicate her discoveries merge seamlessly in her art. The medium truly is her message; her art is not only beautiful, it is always intensely concerned with the dynamics of life and always profoundly human.
