Kevin Fey is a New York City artist who currently attends The Cooper Union. Kevin's body of work focuses on oil painting ground from pigment. His painting practice is grounded in materials and process--his paintings are found first in the parts that constitute them. These initial pieces are showcased by the interaction between the accidental and controlled, between brushed and poured. Kevin's paintings are only completed by their internal dynamics, by a works relation to itself. His work never begins with a clear vision, but instead are in a constant state of flux adapting and reacting to the picture plane until a complete aesthetic whole is realized. |
